I based my recipe on this one from the quirky Youtube channel with lots of good Japanese cooking, but I did substitute the pork shoulder for ground pork and the stock for powdered dashi stock that I had in my kitchen.
E came home and, as cunningly planned, was super wowed that I had made these myself. Trust me, they're worth trying out because they are delicious, simple and total ego-boosters.
They look so impressive!! <3

Oh wow! These pork buns look ah-mazing! If you don't mind my asking, but how long did it take you to make these buns? 30mins? An hour? I'm always on the lookout for quick and easy recipes :)
ReplyDeleteit took about an hour and a quarter i think, but most of that is inactive - proofing the dough once for 30 minutes and second time for 10, steaming takes about 20-25 minutes. it's not something you can whip up in half an hour, but aside from a little kneading it's really not too much work! x
Deletelooks so so delicious! definitely want to try this for sure!
ReplyDeleteI might have to make that when my hubby comes home from korea for good.
