throwback thursday: boating on the danube

12 December 2013

I recently discovered Lula's blog, Beside the Danube, and immediately fell in love with her gorgeous photos and writing. It also reminded me of the great day I had myself on the river Danube with my sister last year, and dug up the photos to relive that sunny afternoon.

We were in Vienna and rented a boat one stunning summer day, and went for a little boat trip along the river.

We ate fresh peaches, took photos and wore straw hats to shield ourselves from the sun. It's one of my favourite summertime memories.

Throwback Thursday: Santorini III

24 October 2013

Another throwback thursday, another excuse to relive our days in Santorini last summer. (Part I, Part II).

E had done a lot of research and booked us a half-day trip on a boat. It was such a great decision - there was a small group of us, we had a barbecue dinner on board, we went swimming in the warm mineral water that a rich turquoise and great for the skin, we watched the sunset from an entirely different perspective and it was completely and utterly breathtaking,

Niolon

15 August 2013

On our last day in Aix, we went to a nearby seaside town, Niolon. It was small, quaint and one of those places you stick out like a sore thumb if you're not a local. For lunch we had the freshest, plumpest Moules Frites, ice cold rosé, and of course, ice cream. There is nothing like enjoying seafood and wine with a panoramic view of the ocean - this place is known as the Côte Bleue, the blue coast, and you can see why.

The perfect antidote to our hectic but wonderful week. That, and looking forward to our honeymoon in the Maldives in December!

Aix-en-Provence

13 August 2013

We are back home from an unforgettable week in the South of France, where we had a magical time with our loved ones before, after and during our wedding day. I can't quite capture how grateful and lucky I feel - sometimes, words are not enough - and we are still on cloud nine from what felt like a dream.

I do think that weddings are very personal and intimate, and I don't intend to do a full-blown wedding recap on my blog. However, I will be sharing a snippet or two here and there as the photos come in, because this place is a diary of sorts after all and I would love to share a few moments with you.

For today though, here are some scenes from Aix-en-Provence, E's home town. It is a charming, beautiful little city and we had a wonderful time walking, dining and exploring with our friends.
